Boc Anhydride has a melting point of approximately 23°C. At temperatures below its melting point, the material readily crystallizes or solidifies in its container, making sampling and transfer difficult. The following handling procedures are recommended to safely liquefy crystallized material.
① Thaw gradually in a 40°C environment.
Place the sealed container in a temperature-controlled oven or warming cabinet set to approximately 40°C. Allow sufficient time for the material to melt completely into a homogeneous liquid before sampling or charging. Do not use the material while any solid phase remains.
② Never use open flame or direct high-temperature heating.
Direct flame or localized high-heat sources on the drum are strictly prohibited. Boc Anhydride is heat-sensitive and may decompose upon localized overheating. Recommended storage temperature is 2–8°C, and heating above 40°C should be avoided.
③ Roll the drum slowly to ensure uniform heat distribution.
Gentle rolling or agitation of the drum during warming helps distribute heat evenly throughout the material, preventing localized hot spots and ensuring complete melting.
④ Keep the packaging sealed to prevent moisture ingress and hydrolysis.
Boc Anhydride is moisture-sensitive and hydrolyzes upon contact with water, releasing tert-butanol and CO₂. This can cause pressure buildup inside the container. Keep containers tightly closed and upright during warming and storage. Opened containers must be carefully resealed.
Recommended storage: 2–8°C, protected from light, in a dry and well-ventilated area.
Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames. Flash point is approximately 37°C.
Handle under adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of vapors.
