【Product properties】
Tolyltriazole (TTA) is a mixture of 4-methylbenzotriazole and 5-methylbenzotriazole, available as white to light yellow granules or powder. TTA has a melting point of 80–86°C. It is sparingly soluble in water, but readily soluble in alcohol, benzene, toluene, chloroform, and other organic solvents, as well as in dilute alkali solutions. With a high purity level, TTA delivers consistent and reliable performance for demanding applications.

Tolyltriazole (TTA) should be stored in tightly sealed containers, kept in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse, protected from heat, moisture, and strong oxidizing agents.

Tolyltriazole (TTA) is a high-performance corrosion inhibitor with broad industrial utility:
Corrosion inhibitor for metals – TTA is an effective rust preventive and corrosion inhibitor for silver, copper, lead, nickel, zinc, and other metals, widely used in rust preventive oils and greases.
Vapor phase corrosion inhibitor – TTA is specially used as a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys in enclosed systems.
Lubricant additive – TTA is used as an additive in lubricating oils to protect metal surfaces from corrosion.
Circulating water treatment – TTA is employed in cooling water treatment formulations and automotive antifreeze fluids.
Synergistic formulations – TTA can be used in combination with various scale inhibitors and biocides, delivering excellent corrosion inhibition performance, particularly in closed-loop cooling water systems.
