Product properties
HTDA (Methylcyclohexanediamine) is a colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid with a slightly hydrogen-like odor. It is a mixture of cis and trans isomers. HTDA features low active hydrogen equivalent weight (AHEW ~32 g/eq), low viscosity (5–15 mPa·s at 25°C), and good impact strength, making it an excellent choice for high-performance epoxy curing systems. With a purity of ≥99.5% and moisture content ≤0.2%, HTDA ensures consistent and reliable quality.

Storage
HTDA (Methylcyclohexanediamine) should be stored in tightly sealed containers, kept in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, protected from fire, heat, and direct light. Avoid exposure to moisture and strong oxidizing agents to maintain product stability.

Packing
Supplied in 180 kg net steel drums (14.4 tons per 20' FCL). Customized packaging and special processing services are available upon request.

Application
HTDA (Methylcyclohexanediamine) is a novel alicyclic amine epoxy curing agent with a side methyl group, structurally similar to isophorone diamine (IPDA). It offers versatile applications across multiple industries:

  • Epoxy curing – HTDA can be used as a standalone curing agent or in combination with other epoxy curing agents (such as fatty amines, alicyclic amines, aromatic amines, anhydrides) and accelerators (such as tertiary amines, imidazoles), delivering excellent performance in composites, coatings, adhesives, and flooring systems.

  • Polymer synthesis – HTDA is used in the organic synthesis of polyamides and polyimides.

  • Polyurethane chain extension – As an amine chain extender, HTDA reacts with isocyanate groups to form urea bonds, significantly improving the overall performance of polyurethane elastomers.
