【Application】
Guanidine carbonate CAS No.593-85-1 is an extremely versatile organic fine chemical product, mainly used for the synthesis of flame retardants, flocculants, foaming agents, sulfonamides, etc. Guanidine carbonate is also used as a synergist in synthetic detergents and as a raw material for cosmetics.
There are three major flame retardant mechanisms of Guanidine carbonate:
(1) Decompose and release CO₂ and NH₃, dilute combustible gas and oxygen
(2) The nitrogen-containing structure promotes the formation of carbon layer and prevents the spread of flames
(3) It forms an acid-alkali synergistic system with phosphates to improve carbonization efficiency, which is more suitable for halogen-free environmentally friendly flame retardant formula.
